Yet another thing to love about Vegas: For a really, really long time, we’ve been living by the same rules that only recently went viral on Instagram (courtesy of @BethRader). Namely:
“How to #DressLikeAWoman:
Step 1: Be a woman
Step 2. Put on whatever clothes you damn well please
Congratulations, you did it.”
Feel like showing up in a caftan and reenacting a midcentury Slim Aarons photo? Be our guest! More into squeezing yourself into a sequined sausage casing and fierce, 7-inch Louboutins? Or rockabilly hipster pin-up? We love it all! Or are you anti-glam but pro rock climbing gear? We’ve got that, too. Most of us even take a pretty freewheeling approach to dressing up for our corporate jobs. After all, until recently, Vegas was still the Wild West (some say it still is), and we don’t really take to people who tell us how to dress.
So imagine how Vegas—with our love of a good costume, reacted to the reports of President Trump’s clear preference for women working in the White House to “dress like women.” What does that mean, anyway? Here, a few of our favorite interpretive IG posts from around Vegas—and the world.
