A look inside The Pepper Club
Feast your eyes on Todd English’s latest masterpiece—The English Hotel. Whether seeking accommodations or delectable cuisine, this new boutique property in Las Vegas’ Arts District keeps its guests entertained from sunrise to sunset and beyond.
Change is undeniably in the air in Las Vegas, especially with the opening of The English Hotel (theenglishhotel.com), a new property in Marriott’s growing Tribute Portfolio. Making its grand debut in the Arts District, this one-of-a-kind gem is the brainchild of food aficionado and celebrity television personality Todd English, marking his first foray into the hotel world.
The English Hotel’s sleek exterior
“The Arts District is where I personally love to spend time and where a lot of locals gravitate,” says English, founder and CEO of The English Hospitality Group (ehgusa.com). “The English Hotel really embodies the neighborhood with lots of colorful, vibrant murals and pieces from local artists such as PWOZ, Pretty Done and Luis Valera-Rico.”
The pool area charms with lounge chairs and bright floral blooms.

It’s those names that have adorned the exterior and interior walls of The English Hotel with a range of eye-catching creations. Inside, 74 boutique hotel rooms await guests who meet the property’s age requirement—21 and up only. Feel free to bring your furry friends though, as all rooms are fit to host up to two four-legged companions. “The rooms have a really cool rock ’n’ roll vibe that reflects my style, but definitely in an elevated way,” says English of the accommodations, which come equipped with in-room cocktail carts—this is Vegas, after all—plush bedding and sprawling showers. “We put a huge emphasis on culinary here, of course, and I think that separates us from the pack,” he adds. “I’m always trying to give guests an experience that turns things on its head a bit. I call it the ‘English Experience.’”

It’s for that very reason that guests may not stay in their rooms for long, however, as the hotel has myriad amenities to experience, from an outdoor pool surrounded by sumptuous seating and blooming bougainvillea to English’s crown culinary jewel. “When you stay at The English Hotel, a visit to The Pepper Club, our Asian-ocean fusion restaurant and sushi bar, is a must,” notes English. The Pepper Club presents an elevated dining experience, achieving culinary perfection with the experience and highly esteemed taste of its James Beard award-winning creator. As for what to order, English recommends indulging in the oxtail fried rice (with shredded oxtail, Chinese sausage and onsen egg ) and the chirashi royal sushi roll, an over-the- top take on a rainbow roll with uni, Ossetra caviar and gold flakes. “One of my personal favorites is a dish called Taco Belle, named after my daughter Belle,” he adds. “It’s spicy and tangy with teriyaki short ribs, serrano and citrus—a must-have!”
While Las Vegas is currently home to the world’s only English Hotel, the chef and new hotelier has his sights set on additional locations. “We’re excited to expand The English Hotel outside of Vegas in the near future and are even looking at bringing it international,” he reveals. “This hotel is filled with music, color and delicious food—all Todd English hallmarks.” One of a kind, indeed.
