SushiSamaba has been an acclaimed restaurant in Las Vegas for over a decade, but with the addition of the Tree Bar & Lounge, it has become a certified dining destination.
The bar has been welcoming guest since October 2021 for a reinvented culinary and cocktail experience. Illuminated by a warm canopy, the theater-style, curved bar spawls for 125 feet.
“I have always been inspired by trees,” SushiSamba founder Shimon Bokovza said of the bar’s muse. ‘Trees are wild; they often grow wherever they choose. Their roots are steadfast and strong. They represent life, ongoing.”
Tree Bar & Lounge comes from ICRAVE, the award-winning architectural minds behind the original space in 2008. Looking to SushiSamba’s U.K. location, the bar is inspired by the sculptural design of its London Tree Bar, but presented in a new, unique, intimate manner.
“Every part of this vibrant, luminous orange tree celebrates life and joy and the bright days that lie ahead,” Bokovza added.
What’s more, ICRAVE went in with the aim to blend Tree Bar seamlessly with SushiSamba’s strong structural features, graffiti art and swirling ribbons. The end result is a 1,500-square-foot oasis invigorated by an ancient banyan tree replica, leather furniture, richly-textured stones, tropical wood and custom light fixtures.

Adding SushiSamba’s already lengthy sake and Japanese whisky lists, Tree Bar elevates cocktail offerings with all new items. Opt for the Tom Yam for a gin-based beverage highlighted by cilantro, chili, lemongrass and lime flavors or order the Coffee & Chocolate Boulevardier for a whisky drink. It includes Carpano Antica sweet vermouth and chocolate bitters and is slowly dripped through roasted Peruvian coffee.
Corporate chef John Um and executive chef Joel Versola also added new menu items especially for the bar. The lobster ceviche encompasses sweet potato, peruvian corn and coconut leche de tigre, vehicle the Smoked Wagyuni basks in white truffle oil.
“Our Las Vegas location has been an institution for over 10 years and the city’s evocative nature continually inspires us to push our creativity even further,” Bokovza said. “As the brand expands globally, with locations set to open in DUbai, Riyadh, Edinburgh and Doha, the SushiSamba tree has come to represent the spirit of SushiSamba: a persistent passion, an everlasting creative energy.”
SushiSamba Tree Bar is located on the second level of the Grand Canal Shoppes at 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd. 89109. It is open 11:30 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
