VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, WESTGATE LAS VEGAS RESORT & CASINO
GORDON PROUTY PHOTO BY MATTHEW NAVARRA
When it comes to the art of dressing well, Gordon Prouty’s philosophy is “dress to impress yourself.” After a distinguished career in the newspaper industry, serving in executive leadership positions at papers across the United States, Prouty landed in Las Vegas, where he currently serves as the vice president of public relations and community affairs for Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. It’s there he’s been able to make an impression both on colleagues and the community thanks to his sharp patterned suits and philanthropic spirit. With board positions on more than five local charities, Prouty will spend this October raising funds for American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign in support of breast cancer awareness and research. Here, Prouty waxes poetic about his passion for fashion. westgatelasvegas.com

IN THREE WORDS, I WOULD DESCRIBE MY STYLE AS… edgy, classy and distinguished.
LAS VEGAS CHANGED MY LIFE… The move here from Seattle in 2015 eventually led to a big career change to my current role. It has allowed me to meet some of the most interesting and amazing people while providing the opportunity to experience some of the most remarkable dining and entertainment in the world… all in one incredible city.
THE FIVE THINGS LEFT ON MY BUCKET LIST ARE... to go to the Super Bowl; attend the Henley Royal Regatta; go to the Kentucky Derby; attend the Cannes Film Festival; and spend a summer touring the Mediterranean.
I WANT MY LEGACY TO BE… that I was always there to help someone when they needed it, and that I was somehow able to make things better for others.
MY STYLE HERO IS… John F. Kennedy. I truly admire his style and how he redefined the presidential look during his brief time.
MY MOST PRIZED POSSESSION IS... a beautiful, very classic and very cool black, brown and gray patterned blazer. My mother gave it to my father as a Christmas gift the first Christmas after they were married. I wear it every year on my dad’s birthday and on their wedding anniversary. They have both been gone for a number of years, but it makes me feel close to both of them whenever I wear it.
