Aura-Soma at Qua Baths & Spa
Recently recognized as one of Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 100 Resorts, Caesars Palace’s Qua Baths & Spa, has added a plethora of new treatments and experiences to its spa menu. First, the spa has added Pilates to its offerings, both private and poolside classes, as well as four new organic spa treatments. Perhaps most intriguing is the new Aura-Soma soul therapy, a practice where one chooses from an array of bottles of colored oils, all of which have a deep and specific meaning, and then receives an explanation of what each choice symbolizes. We spoke with spa director Shannon Stringert to learn more.
How did you discover Aura-Soma?
SHANNON STRINGERT: At a beauty show in Las Vegas in 2010. It took over a year to design the perfect series of treatments unique to Qua, which covered the depth of the color-care system and properly introduced it as a body therapy.
Can you explain what the treatment entails?
SS: Aura-Soma is a unique form of soul therapy. It’s a journey of self-discovery that uncovers hidden potential by providing communication between the self and soul.
How does Qua distinguish itself from the other spas on the Strip? Is the holistic aspect a big part of this?
SS: Qua’s treatment menu covers many different types of western and eastern influenced therapies. We’ve focused on offering unique one-of-a-kind experiences like Aura-Soma and Chakra Balancing while honoring traditional spa services as well. Our diverse spa menu is complemented by our popular signature Roman rituals offerings like the Roman Baths and Arctic Ice room.
What about the new shiatsu menu?
SS: The new Qua Signature Meditative Shiatsu treatment is a unique blend of two therapies—shiatsu and cranial-sacral. Traditional shiatsu stimulates the energy flow throughout the meridians of the body. We end the treatment with cranial-sacral to slow down the mind’s thought process and bring guests to a different state of consciousness and peace. It’s not often you get to experience both in a single treatment.
