If you’ve got an eye for art, you’ve got a great opportunity to cast a vote and potentially change the life of a local artist forever.
Park West Fine Art Museum & Gallery’s Made in Vegas art competition will give one lucky winner a year-long contract, and you can weigh in on who should get the prize. Park West received more than 500 original fine art work submissions and whittled it down to 10 talented finalists.

Representing the local Las Vegas art scene is a broad range of talents. Natalie Iris Delgado is a painter that captures the beauty of nature and the importance of our environment. Ken Flanagan is a self-taught painter capturing portraits of cultural icons. Mekyas Getahun focuses on bright, contemporary abstract pieces, Q’shaundra James paints portraits in oil, and Gina May works with paper to create masterful floral arrangements.
Giovanni Morales is a pop art muralist, Cody Munier creates emotive sculptures from clay, while Neal Portnoy pitches himself as an “illustrator to the stars.” Melanie Stimmell is a South Park illustrator alumnus bringing whimsy to her own world, and Kat Tatz rounds out the group with surrealist works of bright beauty.
The competition is extremely meaningful. A one-year contract with Park West, recognized as the world’s largest art dealer, could be a significant step for these artists’ careers. Even the chance to show in this final round is an opportunity to catch the eye of many a mover and shaker—yourself included.
Moreover, the winner will have his or her work displayed at the Park West Fine Art Museum & Gallery, located at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. The museum spans more than 7,000 square feet and regularly showcases works by eminent artists including Rembrandt, Renoir, Picasso and others.
Each of the finalists’ works are currently on display at the Forum Shops location, and the public may cast its votes now through Monday, Aug. 30. Through public selection, the 10 artists will be narrowed down to a top three. From there, professionals will make the final judgment to announce the winner.
The esteemed panel of judges includes “rockstar of the art world” Michael Godard, local prodigy-turned-painter Autumn de Forest, Park West Gallery Executive Vice President John Block, Park West Gallery Directors Candice and Michael Vergis, as well as Crystal Solis of Freddie Ramon Design.
