Park West Gallery Fine Art Museum searches for the Next Great Artist of Las Vegas. Local contestants submit their original work for the second annual Made in Vegas artist competition beginning on July 6. Observe the candidates artwork at Park West Gallery located at The Forum Shops at Caesars and vote in person or submit your artwork for a chance to be selected for a contract of representation by Park West Gallery.
The people and a panel of judges vote on this year's winner. Having been with Park West Gallery for 20 years, executive president of Park West Gallery John Block has a very clear and specific idea of the right candidates. "We narrow down [the submissions] to the top 10…We look for someone who can create artwork and who wants to interact with collectors….something new, different, special and unique,” he mentions.

The art submissions from the 10 art finalists will be on display at the Park West Gallery Fine Art Museum for the general public to view and vote for their favorite piece. The winner last year was Kat Tatz. Block says, “[Her] style combines pop art, street art and surrealism in a way that is like nothing else we have seen before. She fits so well.”
Block continues, “We had her [attend] our VIP events, she was a part of the online telecast and had a nearly sold out show….We connect our collectors with the artists…they can collaborate and discuss the art that speaks to them.” Mandalay Bay and Centennial Hills Hospital both have Tatz artwork displayed and Block informs that she has been in high demand with her affiliation with Park West Gallery.
Other contestants from last year's competition were also extended contracts. “Another artist we contracted from last year's competition is Melanie Stimmell. She just finished painting murals inside the Caesars Palace expansion. Every single painting she has given to Park West we have sold immediately,” according to Block.
“Our artists typically remain with us throughout the entirety of their career because we have such a huge global audience. It allows artists the freedom to create [since] we can assure them that we have a collector for every piece,” Block says. With the opportunity to showcase their work alongside Renoir, Picasso, Rembrandt and other greats, even becoming a finalist is quite the win.
Whether you are interested in buying original classics from the Renaissance period or looking for modern and new emerging artists to commission, Park West Gallery covers it all. Stop by The Forum Shops at Caesars to view the finalists for this year’s Made in Vegas artist competition and cast your vote.
