The Jonas Brothers and their parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr. bring southern food to Las Vegas with the new location of their restaurant Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand. The restaurant opens in June to offer guests classic southern favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, biscuits and more. The original Belmont, N.C. location’s chef Mario Nichols has been selected to lead in the kitchen and support staff to deliver savory dishes like chicken and dumplings, southern meatloaf and pulled pork sandwiches.
The Jonas Brothers’ great grandmother inspired their father, Kevin Jonas Sr. to open the original Nellie’s Southern Kitchen in 2016 in his hometown. Grandma Nellie worked on cotton mills during her days and cooked traditional southern food for her family at night. Music and food were both staples in Grandma Nellie’s dinner time routine.
Those same traditions are woven into the experience created at Nellie’s Southern Kitchen. Live music, comfort food and a focus on warm hospitality bring guests a piece of love and charm from Grandma Nellie. The Jonas family in partnership with TLI Bedrock LLC investment firm are elated to recreate the heartfelt dining experiences that Kevin Sr. experienced growing up.

Kevin Jr. Nick and Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers kick off the arrival of Nellie’s Southern Kitchen to Las Vegas with their five-night residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. In celebration of the new location, the brothers bring their hits to the stage and entertain audiences with an energetic and fun experience.
“This June will mark the beginning of our bringing to the Strip a celebration of the food and hospitality from my hometown combined with a few surprises we have in store for Las Vegas,” Kevin Sr. shares. “[It’s] a surreal moment for our family to have Grandma Nellie’s name in lights at the iconic MGM Grand. We cannot wait to share with Las Vegas visitors and locals the same joyous times we had around the dinner table.”
With a folklore aesthetic that leans heavily into southern charm, the space of Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand incorporates white shiplap walls, weathered barnwood, Smoky Mountains inspired artwork and handmade furniture. An homage to the Jonas family southern roots is apparent throughout the entire dining experience from the moment guests enter the door to the moment they leave full of love and satisfying comfort food.
