Looking for good as hell New Year’s Eve plans? Lizzo has you covered.
The Grammy-winning artist will ring in 2022 at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in partnership with AEG Presents Las Vegas. The one-night-only performance goes down Dec. 31.
“This is sure to be an unforgettable night, and there’s no better way to start off 2022 than with my fans,” Lizzo said.
Fans have their chance at securing a ticket to what will likely be the hottest New Year’s Eve show in town on Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. PT. Those lucky enough to also be American Express Card Members have early access to tickets now through Oct. 21 at 10 p.m. PT.
“Since opening The Theater this September, we have had unparalleled talents come through our venue, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome our first worldwide megastar,” said Bobby Reynolds, senior vice president of AEG Presents Las Vegas. “We are thrilled to have Lizzo join us for our final performance of 2021. The Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be the place to be on New Year’s Eve.”
“We couldn’t be more pleased to have Lizzo ring in the New Year with us,” added Richard Bosworth, president and CEO of JC Hospitality, which owns Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
It would be a fun enough night if Lizzo just sang “Truth Hurts” on loop, but she’ll no doubt show up with a fire set of songs that just keeps getting better as the night goes on. I know I’m looking forward to her infamous choreography and a showing by her trusty Sasha Flute. Perhaps she’ll bring out the more controversial Blue Ivy?
Since taking the world by storm with the release of 2019’s Cuz I Love You, Lizzo has become a revered artist known for her empowering lyrics and charismatic performance style. She’s racked up hit after hit and fostered iconic collaborations with artists like Missy Elliot and Ariana Grande, not to mention she was a protegé of the legendary Prince.
Lizzo already has enough hits to last a lifetime, but here’s to hoping her New Year’s Eve celebration performance is just a hint at new music to come. In August, she released her first post-Cuz I Love You single: “Rumors,” featuring Cardi B. Running head first into 2022, big things are likely in store for Lizzo (and her fans).
