Journey rocks its latest residency at the newly renovated Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Neal Schon, founder and lead guitarist for Journey, will perform in a new residency with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this month.
Although Journey’s upcoming headlining stint at The Colosseum is the band’s third extended stay in Las Vegas, it is the first new residency to launch following the venue’s recent renovation. “I’m real curious to see what they’ve done there, soundwise as well as the aesthetic,” says Journey’s lead guitarist and founder, Neal Schon. The band behind hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It” and “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” has decades’ worth of songs to draw from, and setting down roots gives them the chance to branch out. “I have a feeling that we will mix it up, because we are sitting in one place, and you can’t keep playing the same thing over and over,” Schon says. Thanks to appearances in TV series like Glee and The Sopranos, Journey’s songs have reached multiple generations. “I never expected it to be around this long, but it’s awesome,” he says. “I love looking out there and seeing three and four generations every year we play.” Oct. 9-26 and Dec. 27-31, ticketmaster.com
