Las Vegans have taken to juicing like bees to honey. Case in point: The monster success of one-year-old juice hub Greens and Proteins, which opened a second location just this month. Known for lines that snake out the door, the hot spot stuck to the formula of its Eastern Avenue location for its sophomore outpost, located near a Las Vegas Athletic Club. Propped beside the Tan Factory off Flamingo and 215 West (just steps away from LVAC) the new Greens and Proteins brings healthy-delicious fare, including vegan, raw, and gluten-free items, to the west side. And to further entice, the new location has launched a breakfast menu, which will hopefully soon roll out at the inaugural store as well.
Breakfast options range from egg dishes like a Greek scramble with pita bread to heartier creations like a house-made Irish steel cut oatmeal (maybe the best oatmeal we’ve ever had). Morning standards have been reinterpreted for maximum nutrition and flavor: protein powder, bananas, and pecans are added to pancakes, and French toast is crusted in house-made granola. For those on the go, a berry parfait and wraps, such as the southwest tofu and chorizo burrito, make for fast and healthy food. Meanwhile, dinner picks are equally low calorie but more substantial.
