In between the epic performances at last night's Grammys, many well-deserved trophies were handed out. Even still, we can’t help but wish more categories existed to honor the show’s most memorable moments. Here, we round up seven awards we wish were real.
The Hottest Couple: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
The megawatt couple—who are expecting a baby girl—always kills it on the red carpet and last night was no exception. Teigen glowed in a sleek form-fitting white cape gown by designer Yousef Al-Jasmi, while Legend looked handsome in a black Gucci tuxedo.
The Cutest Reaction to a Win: Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez
While BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were getting ready for the big show, they learned that Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video (which Gomez stars in) won a Grammy. Watch their reaction to the news above.
The Best Dressed: Lady Gaga
Ahead of her unforgettable David Bowie tribute performance on the Grammys stage, Lady Gaga strutted down the red carpet in a Ziggy Stardust-inspired custom royal blue coat dress by Marc Jacobs. Matching glitter eyeshadow, a fiery orange mane, and towering red platform shoes completed her sartorial salute to the late rock star.
The Coolest Acceptance Speech: Lin-Manuel Miranda
Some artists use their acceptance speech to send an inspiring message, others burst into tears of gratitude (we’re looking at you, Meghan Trainor), and then there’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, star of the Broadway show Hamilton, who accepted the award for Best Musical Theater Album with a well-written rap. Bravo, Miranda.
The Most Empowering Speech: Taylor Swift
While accepting her history-making Grammys trophy for album of the year for 1989, Taylor Swift shared an empowering message to young woman (and perhaps a slam towards Kayne West’s lyrics in his new song “Famous,” in which he claims to have made Swift famous) by saying, “there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.” The singer added, "if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
The Best Joke of the Night: Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder takes the cake for the best joke of the night. When the legendary musician presented the award for song of the year alongside a cappella group Pentatonix, he joked about them not being able to read his results card because it was written in Braille. He literally made everyone laugh out loud. On a more serious note he added, “we need to make every single thing accessible to every single person with a disability.”
The Best Post-Grammys Activity: Adele
Adele fans were furious after a sound malfunction during her performance. The singer later explained via Twitter that the issue was caused by the piano mics falling on the piano strings. However, she didn’t let that bring her down. After the show, she treated herself to In-N-Out.
