Get ready, “Loyal” fans: Epic Records hip hop sensation French Montana is Las Vegas’s newest resident.
Tao now! French Montana’s two-year Vegas residency kicked off in September at Marquee at Cosmopolitan and includes a Halloween weekend show at Tao Nightclub at Venetian on October 29.
Over the summer, French Montana made news by getting cozy in a VIP room at Jewel with Iggy Azalea. This season, when he begins his residency at TAO, Lavo, and Marquee, he’ll be poised to make the whole city get swoony for his appealingly woozy rhymes. “I’m excited about this partnership with Tao Group,” says Montana. “I’ve had a chance to experience their events in Vegas and now being invited to work with them until 2018 is pretty amazing.”
Coinciding with the release of MC4, the fourth volume of his guest-star-loaded mixtape series “Mac & Cheese,” Montana is looking to establish himself as a Strip player, presiding over Cosmopolitan and Marquee venues. “Expect fun and flashy,” says Mike Snedegar, Tao Group’s director of entertainment marketing.
Tao is well known for giving its talent full reign. Wiz Khalifa was a resident this year, a role the company sees as revolving among its New York, Sydney, and coming LA venues. As Tao’s entertainment marketing director, Deb Fass, describes it, “The Vegas residency is a chance for these guys to stay working when they’re not on tour, and get inspired from the fans while writing new music.”
Those fans as well as plenty of famous faces are sure to be on hand during Montana’s Vegas takeover (sightings might even include his famous pet monkey, Julius Caesar). “I really look forward to sharing some memorable nights with Tao’s regular guests and my fans,” says the rapper. “We’re about to turn it all the way up.” From September 17
