The Las Vegas Grand Prix race weekend just got even more grand.
With less than three months to go until the big event, Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix has announced that the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will take place as a support race during the highly anticipated weekend.
“The addition of the Ferrari Challenge series further demonstrates our commitment to delivering an even bigger and better racing event than ever before,” said Silvia Bellot, vice president of sporting and race operations at Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. “Last year we made the dream of racing down Las Vegas Boulevard a reality, and we are thrilled that we can now offer fans twice the racing action for the price of a single ticket. Whether it be on or off-track, we are dedicated to providing fans with a truly unforgettable experience.”
The qualifying race will take place on Nov. 21 at 11:30 p.m., while race one of the Ferrari Challenge will happen on Nov. 22 and race two will start at 6:20 p.m. on Nov. 23. Each round will be approximately 35 minutes.
“We are very proud and delighted to offer our Ferrari Challenge drivers the chance to compete on a circuit that has become instantly iconic, as part of the weekend that sees Formula 1 starring on the same track,” said Antonello Coletta, global head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti. “The success of our one-make series is also based on offering customers the opportunity to compete on the best and most spectacular tracks in the world, and the setting provided by Las Vegas is undoubtedly unique in this respect.”
Additionally, the Ferrari Challenge garages will be right in the center of the action at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Fan Experience. A free daytime event on Nov. 22 and 23, this central hub will feature live entertainment, local food trucks, F1 Academ team appearances and more.
