International superstar Dua Lipa has never hid her raver roots. The pop star may have chart-topping hits with Elton John and Megan Thee Stallion, but she regularly records tracks with electronic dance music producers, from Digital Farm Animals and Whethan, to Calvin Harris, Diplo, The Blessed Madonna and more.
Now, she’s taking her love of the underground dance floor to the mainstream runway with a fashion collection courtesy of Puma.
It’s the “Levitating” singer’s second such collaboration with the streetwear giant, and while her first Puma capsule tapped into nostalgia for looks from the ‘90s and 2000s, this takes the concept one deeper and reinterprets the rave looks of those eras.
From tracksuits to crop tops, extra-long sleeves, baggy shorts, tight miniskirts and all the bold primary colors under the rainbow, the simply-titled Dua Lipa Collection plays with the line between sport and play, because a night spent dancing for hours on end is in itself a form of physical athletics.
“You can style the pieces however you want—you can cut them up, and you can create different, exciting ways of wearing them,” Lipa is quoted in a Vogue interview. “I love pairing the tracksuit or trainers with more high-fashion accessories or even heels for an elevated look. The collection is also perfect for a night of dancing, which I’ve been doing a ton of on my Future Nostalgia tour. I’ve paired the trainers with some incredible looks that my stylist and friend Lorenzo Posocco and I have worked on throughout the tour and on my festival dates.”
We're particularly fond of the purple tracksuit, complete with a solid black line along the sleeve and pant seams. We just can't get enough of the chunky metallic sneakers, and the referee-inspired looks are to die for.
The full collection hasn’t officially dropped just yet, but each piece is available for preorder. If Lipa’s looks are anything like her music, this collection is sure to sell-out before it’s even begun.
