When the Italian-American duo behind Dimore Studio were asked to create a series of precious objects for storied French fashion house Dior, their minds spent many nights at art museums. Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran specifically took to surrealism and cubism, two artistic movements Christian Dior favored as a one-time gallerist, lifelong art collector and friend of some of the greatest artists of the 20th century—from Pablo Picasso to Salvador Dalí to René Magritte. Salci and Moran also looked at the house’s historic furniture like the Napoleon III-style chairs Dior himself used at his midcentury fashion shows. The seats featured a cane weave, silver-leaf work and golden nuances—little details Dimore Studio devoured to develop its 14-piece collection, available in the coming year. By special order at Dior, Bellagio, City Center and Wynn, dior.com; dimorestudio.eu
