“Together with Daniel, we made the impossible possible,” Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe is quoted in a press release. “The Arsham Droplet is a testament to Hublot’s unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of both form and function. This groundbreaking timepiece is a true work of art, seamlessly blending our horological expertise with Daniel Arsham’s visionary artistic vision.”
The item can be worn in three ways: as a traditional pocket watch, table clock, or pendant. It takes inspiration from organic forms, taking the fluid shape of a water drop and made from titanium, rubber and sapphire crystal.
Arsham has collaborated with numerous notable brands throughout the past decade, including Dior and Porsche, and has partnered with notable figures, including Pharrell Williams. He effortlessly blends art, general culture and craftsmanship to create relics meant to stand the test of time, and his collaborative timepiece with Hublot is no exception.
“The Arsham Droplet is a true testament to the power of collaboration," Arsham is quoted. "By combining Hublot’s technical expertise with my own artistic vision, we have created a timepiece that transcends the traditional pocket watch, blending the past, present and future in a captivating and unexpected way."
This collaboration marks another notable partnership for Arsham, who is renowned for his ability to remodel traditional items into fresh pieces of artistry. Modern Luxury had the chance to sit down with Arsham this May at his home in New York City to discuss his collaboration with Champagne house Moët & Chandon on a limited edition set of bottle holders and casings, an innovative pursuit that showcased his distinct and transformative vision.
No doubt this extremely rare and versatile timepiece will be a favorite among art lovers and watch collectors alike. To learn more about the Arsham Droplet, visit hublot.com.
