On Oct. 19, the LVFC will host its fifth annual artLIVE! fashion show and fundraiser. What do you enjoy most about putting together this event?
I enjoy honoring and highlighting the amazing local fashion and art talent in our community. We have a remarkably diverse group of artists and designers. We will feature local designers, artists and students who have previously won competitions through the Las Vegas Fashion Council. Their talents continue to inspire me.

Tell us about the Las Vegas Fashion Council’s success.
We’re celebrating five years of bringing more awareness to our evolving fashion industry and local designers and raising scholarship funds for fashion students. We have a passionate and diverse board of individuals who make it all possible. We’ve awarded over $10,000 in scholarships and prize packages to date.

On any given night, where will we find you for dinner?
If I’m home in Summerlin it’s La Strega, Wolfgang Puck, North Italia or Andiron. If I’m on the Strip it’s either NoMad before a Golden Knights game or Mon Ami Gabi to enjoy the fountains of Bellagio and music.

Which emerging, local designers will we find in your closet?
There are so many. Some local designers in my closet include Winnie Shao, Louisa Voisine and Dee Berkley. I’ve commissioned several of our designers to make one-of-a-kind pieces, including my wedding gown designed by Joey Galon.

What is your biggest achievement?
I’m coming up on five years of marriage with my husband, Phil Cooper. We’ve been together 10 years but have known each other for about 35 years. I consider myself blessed; we complement each other in every way imaginable.
