It’s those very qualities that are center stage in the new Gucci eyewear campaign video, a 50-second clip that stars Eilish taking a romantic night drive through the world-renowned streets of Hollywood, only to park atop the famous lookout to meet her one true love.
Directed by Gucci’s Creative Direction, Alessandro Michele, the clips also serves to introduce the Italian luxury fashion house’s latest eyewear styles; both of which are as glamorous and mysterious as the campaign’s leading woman.
“The campaign video culminates in a mysterious meeting involving two vintage cars, two sunglass styles, and two versions of Billie Eilish,” the brand states in the official YouTube caption. “One and the same, yet different, the dual personas portray how eyewear, just like cars, can reflect one’s image in an expanded way.”
Of course, the full eyewear collection for women is not as simple as two designs. The sunnies take inspiration from Hollywood's golden era, ranging from cat eyes to square frames in bold color palettes, logo-dusted and tinted lenses, statement shapes and even eye-catching chain weights.
The optical frame selection is just as inventive, with its own range of classic and modern styles that feature adorable chains, metal and acetate silhouettes, bulky and delicate designs, and more.
This is of course not Eilish’s first official Gucci collaboration. The two came together on a collection of nail stickers in celebration of the pop star’s sophomore album vinyl release. Eilish also hit the red carpet of this year’s Met Gala in a custom Gucci gown.
