Autumn calls for a wardrobe of boots, sweaters and plenty of warm colors.
But this fall, we’re taking a note from the fashion playbook of Elle Woods
Early on in her journey at Harvard, she quips, “Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.” And no disrespect to orange, but we agree with Elle— now is not the time to give up on our favorite vibrantly feminine hue.
From the runway to the red carpet, hot pink has dominated fashion (thanks Valentino!). Following some bleak years, not to mention high popularity in neutral-toned looks, people are as ready as ever to embrace fun colors in fashion.
As we transition into the cooler months, we’re not ready to give up on Barbiecore just yet, and so we looked to the expert advice of CULTNAKED founder Mary Furtas for some advice. Read on for how to wear hot pink in the fall.
Why do you think hot pink has had such a moment over the last year?
I feel like hot pink overall is a moment— kind of a cultural statement that doesn't need to be "in". Every season, it's coming back in new options as designers reimagine the striking look. Personally I feel very powerful when I wear pink and it suits me well, so I implement it regardless of fashion trends. Also, I feel like the Barbie movie coming out created additional buzz.

Hot pink makes a lot of sense for spring and summer. However, it’s not exactly the first color we think of for autumn, but we’re not ready to give up on Barbiecore yet. How can we continue to implement hot pink into our wardrobe?
At this point I am so over seasons . What really matters is that your outfit compliments how you feel— and additional bonus if the color and the style suits your vibe. Fashion is all about expressing oneself and nothing should dictate that. When I used to live in Ukraine the weather was reeeeally cold in winter, but I'd always manage to wear a very summer-y look under my huge puffer jacket because I'd feel like it so that would be the energy I would match.
Having hot pink accents is fun, but for fall time, how can we style a full-on head-to-toe Barbiecore look while still channeling an autumnal look?
Personally, I am a big fan of mono color look: a full head-to-toe same color moment. Let's say a skort, turtleneck top, matching tights and pointy heels with neutral makeup and hair to balance it out. Or a wool suit if you want to go business classy. I also love when one element is saturated and others are neutral: gray or black.
What are your favorite hot pink pieces from your brand and why?
Definitely our HOURGLASS jumpsuit (dress with shorts underneath) and our PINK skort. These items survived the test of time and are CULTNAKED's classics. They are comfy while looking great and they are my go-to party essentials.
