3. Natalie Portman

If you’re a fan of award shows, there’s a good chance you remember that Portman wore a similar color combination—pink and red—last year when she took home the Best Actress/Drama Globe for her work in Black Swan. This year she does not come with the accessory of being enceinte, but she does still seems to favor this couture-driven color combo. I fall into the same camp most willingly, so I loved Portman’s custom fuchsia strapless duchesse-satin gown with its red foldover accent at the neck and a dramatic side drape, all the work of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. Portman paired this beautifully structured, richly toned dress with diamond and platinum jewels from Harry Winston and Tiffany & Co.’s ruby satin Morgan clutch. Overall, a youthful tribute to old Hollywood at its finest; and as for Elbaz—well, sir, somewhere your mentor, Mr. Beene, is surely smiling.
