The over-40 set acquitted themselves well Sunday night, from Dame Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka to Madonna in Reem Acra. (Who doesn't adore Meryl Streep, but the rodeo-like detailing on her otherwise elegant, floor-length shirtdress proved a bit of a head-scratcher.) Twitter lit up like a house afire, however, when Jane Fonda took the stage to present the award for Best Movie: Musical or Comedy (The Artist took the prize): The 74-year-old Fonda looked quite amazing in a form-fitting couture gown by Lebanese designer Jack Guisso, which she paired with black satin Ferragamo pumps. Even the Armani-clad George Clooney noticed, telling reporters backstage after his Best Actor win for The Descendants, “Jane Fonda in that dress, my god. She looked great, didn't she?” We couldn't agree more. |
