Inside the pyramid of the Luxor Las Vegas lies a Tender Steak & Seafood, a delicious dining gem. Reminiscent of a classic steakhouse with modern touches, Tender has a club-style atmosphere with oversize leather booths, rich wood paneling, heavy drapery, and rustic antler accents.
Executive chef K.C. Fazel (trained by Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio and Vegas chef Bradley Ogden) offers an extensive menu stacked with upscale American dishes and steakhouse classics. Steaks run the gamut from filet mignon to specialty butcher cuts to porterhouses, most notably a 24-ounce Black Angus Niman Ranch, California dry-aged beef porterhouse. For something unfamiliar yet altogether outstanding, try the Texas Broken Arrow Ranch wild game tasting of Nilgai antelope osso buco, axis venison medallion, and wild boar loin with faro, fig chutney, and cranberry demi-sauce.
All of the meat served at Tender is sourced from ranchers who treat their animals humanely and never inject them with hormones or antibiotics. The many seafood dishes (Hawaiian blue prawns, Maine sea scallops, and Scottish Loch Duarte salmon, to name a few) are made with sustainable catch.
In addition to six types of beef, and seafood flown in daily, menu highlights include three varieties of oysters, eight farmhouse cheeses, escargot Rockefeller, and surf (king crab medallion) and turf (Kobe and foie gras meatloaf) sliders with truffled onion and artichoke aioli. Other can’t-miss dishes include the truffled mashed potatoes, lobster and white cheddar macaroni and cheese, and short rib ravioli. The off-the-menu pasta primavera is rich and delicious with a cream sauce and vegetable assortment on a bed of gluten-free quinoa linguini.
Chef Fazel also offers a variety of vegetarian dishes, such as Mediterranean vegetarian mezza (hummus, baba ganoush, and various pickled veg), winter pumpkin ravioli, truffled mushroom risotto, and selection of soups and salads.
