All over Las Vegas this New Year’s Eve, revelers will be putting off their resolutions for one last indulgent night of partying. Among them? Pop star Fergie, 36, who will hit the town with husband Josh Duhamel, the sexy star of Transformers and the former TV hit Las Vegas. On her post-party resolution list after shaking off the New Year’s Eve bacchanalia: nail one solo project after another in 2012.

The world-famous singer is taking a break from the Black Eyed Peas to focus on branching out from music—work that is piling up with impressive speed.

“I really want to focus on my solo business ventures next year,” she says. “I’ve got my third Avon fragrance in the bottle, so I’m excited about that, as well as another great season coming together for my Fergie Footwear line. I’m very involved. I work closely with the Brown shoe team and my stylist, Bea Åkerlund, overseeing all of the designs. We meet several times a year to go over trends and new ideas.”

What’s more, the vocalist says she wants to “do more voice-over work in film and TV animation.”

So much for taking time off.

“I’m always getting new creative ideas in my head,” she says. “I will have to see where my journey takes me! It’s not easy, though—I keep a very tight schedule. It’s very regimented. My team and I are planners.”

A Black Eyed Peas Beginning
It's been a wild ride for the charismatic star, who took the Black Eyed Peas to a fame so great that you don’t even have to own their music to get songs like “I Gotta Feeling” stuck in your head. The group officially formed in 1995, enjoying its first hits “Let’s Get It Started” and “Where Is the Love?” on its third album, the multi-platinum smash hit Elephunk.

“They are like my fraternity brothers,” Fergie says of bandmates will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. (While Fergie plays the hostess with the mostess at The Mirage this New Year’s Eve, will.i.am will be across the street DJing at Encore’s Surrender nightclub.)

The Peas’ leading lady does plan to relax during her band’s break in 2012, and is looking forward to spending some of her much-deserved downtime with her husband—although no word on whether or not he believes his busy wife can actually sit still. The couple, who have been married since 2009, enjoy watching sports together and playing with their two dachshunds, Zoe and Meatloaf. “Zoe swims in the pool and only cares about attention and fetching the ball,” Fergie says. “Meatloaf wants love and lots of food.”

For now, those motherly instincts are reserved for her pups—she’s stayed completely mum about whether or not the Black Eyed Peas break has anything to do with her and Josh trying to have a baby.

Ringing in 2012
Before her promised respite, Fergie will don her dancing shoes one more time—for the New Year’s Eve blowout grand opening of 1 OAK at The Mirage. NYC nightlife impresarios Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva have joined forces with Vegas’s own Light Group to open the nightclub in the space that used to house Jet. (Sartiano and Akiva run Butter, The Darby, and G Spa & Lounge in New York, plus the 1 OAK clubs in Manhattan, Charlotte, North Carolina, and São Paulo, Brazil.) For its opening, Fergie will host and perform—our bets are on an “I Gotta Feeling” finale.

“Fergie has been a friend and supporter of ours for years,” Sartiano says. “She will put New Year’s Eve at 1 OAK over the top.”
