George Strait and Martina McBride’s annual joint tour has always been much anticipated in Vegas, but this year’s Superbowl weekend stop, on February 2, will be epic. Though Strait will continue to write and record new music, his current 2013-2014 tour, dubbed “The Cowboy Rides Away,” will be his last. Strait, who has sold more than 70 million albums in his 32-year career, is a big seller in country-friendly Vegas, and the Superbowl eve performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is expected to draw huge crowds. Dispatch: Celeb-Fueled Fêtes

Maria Menounos and Paula Abdul party like it’s their birthday and a housewife hits up Tao.

July 05, 2012

Journalist and television host Maria Menounos spent her 34th birthday at Lavo, where she tucked into a chocolate log dessert with a single candle. The chef wrote "Happy Birthday Maria" in chocolate on her plate.

Also celebrating a birthday in Vegas, Paula Abdul turned 50 at Tao and Azure at The Palazzo Hotel. Abdul’s birthday confection at Tao looked like a pyramid of oversize chocolates. Poolside at Azure, she got a blue-and-white cake with flowers on top. Her figure looks 30.

Poolside at Ditch Fridays at the Palms Casino Resort, a shirtless Carson Kressley looked ripped in comparison to Joey Fatone. In town from New York, Kelly Killoren Bensimon hit Lavo’s La Freak Friday. And the former Real Housewives of New York star hosted the Tao Beach fête on Saturday in honor of her book, I Can Make You Hot!: The Supermodel Diet.

The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards

Country's biggest stars celebrated their music at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

June 06, 2012

The 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards welcomed country’s biggest stars to perform for a packed house at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Few awards were actually given out on-air, as the three-hour show traditionally prefers to keep the vibe more like “country music’s party of the year,” rather than a drumline of speeches. But the biggest award of the night–and one of the most prestigious in the world of country music–is Entertainer of the Year, the only fan-voted trophy. As her award show luck goes, it was the tall, blonde Taylor Swift who ultimately won the night’s coveted prize–her second consecutive score for this honor. She also rocked out in her audience seat to Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney’s “Feel Like a Rock Star” performance and presented Blake Shelton with his Male Vocalist of the Year win. Shelton cohosted the show along with Reba McEntire.

Earlier, a flurry of blinding star power paraded down the purple carpet. Celebrities in attendance included Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian, KISS, Lionel Richie, Marc Anthony, and many more.

Stargazing at Lily Bar & Lounge

The Light Group's Lily Bar & Lounge grand opening.

April 04, 2012

Hot Hollywood couple Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku cuddle up inside Lily Bar & Lounge

The Light Group’s Lily Bar & Lounge flourished with an unforgettable grand opening bash complete with a surprise performance by sexy crooner Robin Thicke. Star sweeties Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox playfully posed with one of the many beautiful lily flowers adorning the space for the opening, where guests including Whitney Port, Glee’s Mark Salling, the Twilight series’ Billy Burke, and Vegas hometown hero Ne-Yo listened to the beats of DJ Alexandra Richards. Dushku and Fox hung out with Carly Chaikin and Parker Young, both of Suburgatory, before heading to The Bank Nightclub for the night’s after-party. The Voice judge Cee Lo Green also checked out the new lounge before his performance at Haze Nightclub.

Dita Von Teese performs her burlesque act at the new Hyde at Bellagio.

March 05, 2012

Fancy a martini? Performing artist Dita Von Teese sure does, but instead of sipping on it, she dives right in – to her most famous burlesque act in a human-sized martini glass, complete with an olive sponge. The bombshell wasted no time bringing her glittering number to the glamorous new Hyde at Bellagio. Shortly after she stunned in this sheer black dress on the red carpet, she wowed the crowd with her sexy performance and barely-there rhinestone costume. It had been a little while since the vintage vixen performed in Las Vegas – the last time was in a guest stint at MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Paris in 2010. But Vegas fans won’t have to wait so long this time: In May, she’s taking a full burlesque production on a Live Nation tour, with a Las Vegas stop on the map.
