Molly Sims is in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And at the Launch My Line premiere in New York City. And the Hope for Haiti Now telethon in Los Angeles. And a charity run in Santa Monica….
It’s been almost two years since her splashy NBC series Las Vegas wrapped, but Sims has hardly been sitting on the Hollywood sidelines. Instead, she’s signed on to star in next year’s independent drama Hickory Nation; traveled around the globe as an ambassador for Five & Alive, Population Services International’s (PSI) program targeted at saving young children and their families; and launched her own jewelry line, Grayce by Molly Sims. “I don’t wait to be inspired,” says Sims. “You make time, you organize, you do priorities, you have a plan and there you go.”
And go she does. Sims recently expanded Grayce into a two-part collection—the first launched on HSN last fall, while Grayce The Collection hit shelves at Henri Bendel, Ron Herman and Scoop (including The Forum Shops at Caesars location) this past spring.
“It’s the first time in my life that I’ve used everything [I am],” she says. “I used my years of modeling, I used my experience living in seven other countries, photography and my family. It’s interesting to have been in a process where you see the beginning, middle and end. And it’s great to be your own entrepreneur.”
Entrepreneur is just one of the many hats the 36-year-old Kentucky native is currently wearing. Here, a look at the many sides of Molly Sims.

RIGHT IMAGE: From revamping an interior to creating a new collection, Sims looks to her inspiration boards as a guide. “These are just things I love and things I collect,” she says. “Whether it’s woods or fabrics, they go on this board, and somewhere along the way I’ll pull it out and be like, I like this color. But I’m always creating.” ABOVE: Satin tank, Elise Øverland. Visit eliseoverland.com. Suede shorts, Chloé. The Shoppes at The Palazzo, 702-266-8122. Necklaces and ring, Grayce by Molly Sims. “I’ve always had a love of jewelry because of my mom—it’s been her passion for the past 20 years, and her passion became my passion,” says Sims, who’s been touted for her ability to accessorize since bursting into the limelight as the host of MTV’s House of Style. “I’ve never thought that beauty depends on price. I collect beautiful things, and that can be high-end, middle-end and low-end. And I wanted [Grayce] to reflect who I am.”
However, who she is proved to be harder to pin down than Sims originally thought. “My style is four different things,” she explains.
“We call them the Grayce girls—one’s the all-American, jeans, white T-shirt, Ralph Lauren; one’s a fashionista, very city chic. And then you have the bohemian girl—that’s your Jane Birkin, your surfer meets your artist. And your glamour girl, which is your classic black dress, your Hollywood starlet, your Grace Kelly.”
Hence, the Grayce collections range from layering necklaces in vintage-looking metals and classic pearls to crystal cuffs, earrings and cocktail rings in a kaleidoscope of colors. “It’s the first time I put my name on anything,” says Sims. “I want people to love my stuff the way I love my mom’s stuff.”
Sims’ creative side reaches much further than her collection of baubles; it stretches from a country cottage with modern accents in Wainscott, New York, to a French-designed pied-à-terre in Manhattan. A self-confessed real estate buff, Sims is quick to advocate buy, buy, buy—but buy smartly. “A lot of girls spend their money on clothes,” she says. “I saved my money and paid my mortgages.”
